Rondekop Farmstay  Self Catering Farm House has a fully equipped kitchen with a pantry and outdoor braai facilities. 6 Bedrooms that sleeps 12  people. Two bathrooms with a separate guest toilet. Dining Room and Sitting Room with a fire place for the cold winter evenings. A wrap around stoep where you can enjoy the break of dawn or sip a G&T while admiring the beautiful Karoo sunsets.

Come and enjoy the tranquil surroundings in this homestead on a Private Game farm. Experience the warm hospitality of the Karoo while walking or cycling in the veld. We’ve restored the old house for you to refresh and revive your soul surrounded by the beauty and sounds of nature….. Mountain bikes welcome. Rondekop is the ideal spot for plant lovers - we have numerous aloes, succulents and well preserved Eastern Cape vegetation on our farm. Jansenville district is famous for its Euphorbium plant species and is therefore known as the Noorsveld.

The Farm Stay Self-Catering House are situated 3km from Jansenville on the R75 towards Graaff-Reinet . GPS Coordinates: -32.913436, 24.677406 (please note: 3km’s out of Jansenville then a short gravel road of 0.5km). It is only 45 minutes' drive from the beautiful Graaff-Reinet and 1 1/2 hours drive from Port Elizabeth. Visit the nearby Addo Elephant Park and the Valley of Desolation. Or better yet, just stay where you are, and enjoy the quiet and tranquil surroundings on the farm, a real hide away from all the hustle and bustle...

Water

 

The water for the house is from our borehole and are limited to the amount that is being pumped from the solar pump every day. Please take care not to indulge yourselves in long showers as you might end up with no water.

Drinking water is from the rainwater tanks next to the house.

As the farm is in a drought stricken area, please use this source sparingly. Make sure that all the taps are closed properly.

Electricity

 

We are dependent on our Solar System. Please use electricity sparingly. We have a back-up generator that can be started to use when a hairdryer or charging of a laptop is required. There is a charging station in the hall that can charge up to 6 devices. Please use this only during daytime as the battery system provide the energy for the lights at night.

Geysers and Stove

​

Our geysers for the bathroom and kitchen works with gas. The stove is also a gas stove. Please take care that the stove plate and oven are properly switched off after usage to prevent gas leaks.

Daily Housekeeping

 

Maria is at your service and lives on the premises. Her fee is R150 per day.

Game

​

You will find the following species on the farm:

Kudu, Springbuck, Blesbuck, Black Wildebeest, Duiker and Steenbok.

Visit the Mohair Experience and see why Jansenville is the Mohair Capital of South Africa and the Sid Fourie Historical House Museum in Brugstreet, Jansenville  Contact: Pauline van Zyl on 0829576555for a personal tour.

Pay a visit to the lovely Dutch Reformed Church Street in Main Street.

The Church has an unusual external Bell-Tower complete with bell that is rung to this day. The tower is typically Victorian styled complete with plaster quoins.

Anglo Boer Fort that was recently restored to it's full glory.

Addo Elephant National Park

 

Plan a daytrip to see the third largest National Park in South Africa.

Our Rooms

The house have 6 bedrooms and sleep 12 people.

Four with double beds and two with two three-quarter beds. One room is outside on the stoep.

Walking and Cycling

 

You are more that welcome to walk or cycle on the circular route on the farm. It is an moderate 12km route winding throught the farm where you can experience the wildlife and flora. Please close all gates behind you to keep all the animals where they should be.
